Seconded to Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) as Specialist Coatings inspection Engineer to assist Client Third party inspectionTeam in Thermal metal sprayed and mainstream coating operations on Site, management of EPC Contractor Technip Bechtel,Supervisors and QC teams on all site        painting/coating operations, to support mechanical completion and commissioning activities.

 

Project responsibilities

 

Coatings (specialized)

 

Thermal Sprayed Aluminum critical coating application and testing to AWS Standard on hot gas                 pipelines,sulphur reactor units,storage vessels  reaction condenser modules and acid gas by-pass equipment.

 

Refractory lining of hot gas by-pass units and evaluation and repair of reactor and boiler units, testing also included compressive strength and bulk density evaluation in on Site MTS,UKAS Materials Laboratory.

Seconded to Principal EPC Contractor Technip/Bechtel Project management team by Black & Veatch Pritchard Kansas city U.S,to coordinate the fabrication and coating

of 42 & 48 inch feeder gas pipelines and pipe systems on a 1.6 Billion $ reprocessing

Plant for the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company ADNOC, in remote desert location.

 
Project responsibilities

 

Safety, format of job hazard assessments,work permits and operational procedures

for confined space working. Supervision of multi-national QA/QC personnel during

fabrication welding in both field and shop and supervising metal spraying operations.

 

Specialist Coating

Supervision at all stages of critical application of Thermal arc sprayed aluminum to

Pipelines, Vessels and fittings. Qualification of spraying operators to project specifications and procedures, review of Inspection test plans and quality control

procedures, contractor method statements and material approval testing working

within a  ISO 9000 quality System.

 

Welding/ NDT

 

Supervision of multi-national sub-contract welding supervisors in field and shop

to ensure all the welding procedures were strictly controlled throughout the fabrication

operations to ensure no damage occurred to aluminized spools and fittings by using

low heat input welding techniques.

 

Program coordination of spools in fabrication shops to maintain priority order for field

construction and ensuring correct welding techniques were applied using TIG,MIG and

SMAW processes with full visual and NDT inspection carried out with  MPI ,UT and R.T techniques.
